Hi, I’m Keren. As an Art Therapist I believe that art making or creative making can play a key part in non verbal processing and communication with oneself, which is valuable for understanding ourselves better and this growth in awareness can lead to improved mental health and wellbeing.
I seek to provide a confidential and creative therapeutic space for adults and children which gives freedom to explore using a wide variety of art, craft and nature based materials. Alongside the building of our therapeutic relationship, this can allow for sensitive or challenging personal material to emerge at a safe distance - within the made work, which can be reflected upon together and looked after.
My approach is client led and psychodynamic, while integrating wider therapeutic skills to meet individual needs. No pre-existing artistic skills are needed to choose this mode of therapy, all that is needed is an openness to what can emerge through the visual.
I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds and have specific experience using Art Therapy with the issues of peer relationship difficulties, complex family relationships, parenting, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, homelessness, substance use disorders, sexual identity, bereavement, trauma and the impact of historic trauma.
I offer In-Person with art and craft materials and Online Sessions where clients provide their own materials to work with.
I am a registered Art Psychotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the British Association of Art Psychotherapists (BAAT).
